Stole this meme from Anacybele and decided to fill it out with the focus on Riku and Kairi between Ultimativ and Matrix of Reality, in which they're dealing with the birth of their son. Here we go!

Choose two characters who would like to be a couple. What franchise are they from?

Riku and Kairi from the Kingdom Hearts series, specifically after Ultimativ. Sora sacrificed himself to save Riku from Xehanort, losing his life in the process.

How did the couple react when the mother found out that she was pregnant?

A twenty-year-old Riku was up on the mountain path in the Land of Departure, his new home where he had taken up the left throne as the guardian of darkness in the worlds. It was still an adjustment, being a Keyblade Master who was basically in charge of making sure light didn't get too out of hand while Ventus was trying to figure out the balance of connecting the worlds. He jumped up and swung the Kingdom Key at one of the rings hanging in the area, ready for training. The Kingdom Key still felt strange in his hand, so used to the Way to the Dawn instead, but Sora's heart had trusted him to take it after its former master had lost his life. He narrowed his eyes and focused, and light and darkness both enveloped the Keyblade. He thrust it forward, sending both elements speeding toward the ring and knocking it into the air. 
"Having fun?" he heard a familiar voice greet, and he dismissed the Kingdom Key and turned around to find Kairi- his beloved wife, his partner, his greatest companion- approaching him with a warm smile on her face. He tilted his head as he saw the sparkle in her eyes, one that wasn't there before. 
"What's on your mind?" he asked as she fidgeted a bit, a giddy smile on her face. She bit her lip and grinned at him, then leapt into his arms. He let out a yelp and caught her, spinning around as he held her. 
"Mmh!" He grunted as she kissed him rather fiercely. "Um, not that I mind, but what was that about?" She giggled a bit and rested her head on his shoulder, letting out a content sigh. "Kairi?" She looked up at him and smiled, stepping back and taking his hand. 
"Well, while I was in Radiant Garden, I checked in with a physician, and..." She placed his hand against her stomach. "Riku, I'm pregnant!" He blinked and stared at her.
"P-Pregnant?" he echoed, and she grinned and nodded. He let out a breath and lowered his head for a moment. 
"Riku," his wife said gently. "My love?" His eyes teared up and he lifted her into his arms again, kissing her gently. 
"Kairi..." He rested his forehead against hers, and she smiled and wiped a tear away from his cheek. "We're going to be parents? We're going to be parents! I'm going to be a father!" She laughed and kissed him again, nodding.
"And you'll be a wonderful father," she told him. "I know it, Riku. I love you so much." 
"I love you too, Kairi," he said gently. "More than I could ever tell you."

Morning sickness appeared! Mommy was about to throw up! What did the daddy do?

"Um, Kairi?" Riku knocked on the door to the bathroom, frowning. "Are you okay?"
"Fine!" he heard her call in between retching. "Go away!"
"Kairi, if there's something I can do, please tell me!" he replied. "I want to help you through this."
"Just go get me some water, okay?" She didn't sound entirely pleased with him, and he sighed.
"Will do," he replied, then hurried down toward the kitchen. "OOF." He ran straight into Ventus, who stumbled back and recovered quickly. 
"Sheesh, Riku, where's the fire?" he asked with a teasing smile. "You're not usually in that much of a hurry."
"Kairi's sick," he said as he took Ventus's offered hand and got back to his feet. "Well, morning sickness. I was just going to get her some water." Ventus nodded. 
"Well, good luck with that," he said with a smile. "Let me know if I can do anything to help."
"Thanks," Riku nodded and headed off again.  

Mommy has weird cravings! What kind of food did she eat?

"Riku?" 
"Mmrpgh," Riku grumbled, half-roused from his sleep by Kairi's prodding. 
"Riku," she prompted again, shaking him a little. He blinked and wiped the sleep from his eyes as he turned to her. 
"Whuh?" he asked, groggy. "What is it, Kairi?" 
"Do we have any sea salt ice cream?" she asked, and he glanced out the window, then flopped his face into his pillow. 
"Kairi, it's the middle of the night. Do you need that ice cream right now?" He could almost feel her burning glare on his head. 
"Gee, sorry for inconveniencing you," she nearly growled. "It's not like I'm over here with your unborn child growing inside me!" He sat up immediately and rubbed his forehead. 
"Okay, okay, I'm sorry," he said and took her hand, kissing it. "Twilight Town or Radiant Garden?"
"Oh, hm..." She frowned in thought. "They're both really good... Radiant Garden's seems a little sweeter, but Twilight Town's is creamier..." He could tell what she really wanted just from the look in her eyes. 
"Okay, why don't I get both?" he asked as he swung his legs over the side of the bed.
"Oh, Riku, I don't want to make you do all that," she said, and he shook his head.
"Nah, it's no trouble." He smiled and leaned over to kiss her, then picked up his shirt and pulled it over his head. "After all, it's not just for you. It's for our child too."
"Thank you, Riku." She smiled warmly. "Be careful." 

Mommy had a lot of mood swings and hormones! How did daddy deal with it?

"RIKU!" Riku flinched and, as a result, took a direct blow from Aqua.
"Whoops!" She smiled sheepishly. "Are you okay, Riku?" Riku nodded and got back to his feet, turning to find Kairi hurrying toward him. 
"Kairi, what's wrong?!" he demanded and opened his arms just as she leapt into them. "Are you okay?"
"What did I do?" she asked, her voice straining. "I thought we were going to go back to Destiny Islands today."
"Um, we are," he said, stroking her hair. "I was just getting some training in beforehand." 
"But... I thought this would be our day together," she nearly blubbered. "What's the matter? Do you not want to be with me?"
"Of course I do!" He replied and kissed her forehead. "I love you, Kairi. I just wanted to get a little bit of nerves out." 
"Nerves?" she repeated, wiping her eyes. "What is it, my love?" He looked down.
"I just... I get nervous going to Destiny Islands," he admitted. "I know it's our home, but..." He sighed. "I... It's still hard to forget what happened there. I... Sora left a hole in my heart, just like he did for you. It's just hard to go back and be reminded of losing him."
"Oh, Riku..." She kissed his cheek. "I understand. But we need to heal. Both of us." She smiled and placed her hand to his other cheek. "So... We'll go together?" His breath faltered at those words, and he took her hands.
"Yeah." 

Mommy looks good in the maternity dress! How does she feel?

Kairi huffed as she looked at her reflection, trying on a pink maternity dress while Riku sat nearby. She frowned as she turned from side to side, examining herself. 
"This makes me look fat," she grumbled. Riku suppressed the survival instinct to dive behind the chair he occupied.
"No it doesn't, dear," he said with a smile. "You look beautiful." She turned to him with a curt look.
"Liar." 
"I'm not lying," he replied as he stood up and came to her side. "Kairi, you're radiant. You shine with light both inside and out. And," he kissed her temple. "Our child will thank you for taking such good care of him or her, and yourself. Because that's what you're doing."
"Mm..." She didn't look convinced, not until she looked into his eyes. "Oh... Riku."
"What?"
"You... You really mean it, don't you?" she asked, and he tilted his head curiously. "How can I say no to you when you look at me like that?"
"Look at you like what?" he wondered.
"That absolute adoration in your eyes... That you love and care for me that much."
"It's because I do, Kairi," he said with a smile and kissed her forehead. "And you know I'll do anything to support you."
"I know," she agreed with a smile of her own. "Thank you, Riku."

Daddy and Mommy (with a maternity dress) had a conversation until Mommy felt a first baby kick in her body. How do they react?

"Do you think Ven will let us turn his old room into a nursery?" Kairi asked while she laid her head in Riku's lap, and he shrugged as he played with her hair and massaged her shoulders a bit. "It's not like he ever uses it anymore, and it's a good size. Plus we can keep supplies and toys and the like on the bookshelves in there."
"I don't see why it would be a problem," Riku replied. "I'll ask him next time I catch him when he's not busy."
"Which will be... What, about three years after the baby is born?" She laughed and rested her hand on her bulging stomach. "Poor guy really has his hands full. Are you sure he doesn't need you for anything?"
"Even if he did, you're much more important," he said and leaned down to kiss her forehead. "I'd trade the worlds for you, Kairi. You know that."
"I know," she agreed with a warm smile. "I just... Whoa!" 
"What? Kairi, what's wrong?" Riku tried not to sound as alarmed as he felt. "Are you okay?"
"Y-Yeah..." she sounded a bit off guard. "Wait... Oh! Yeah, there it is again!"
"There WHAT is?" Riku all but demanded, and Kairi looked up at him. 
"I just felt the baby kick," she said with a smile. "Boy, it's a strong one. Just like you."
"You think so?" he wondered, and she took his hand and placed it on her stomach. He waited a moment before he felt a little something. "Whoa. Whoa!" He grinned. "That's our child!"
"Yes it is," Kairi smiled. "But sheesh, I hope this doesn't become a habit." 

Mommy's getting an ultrasound and sees a baby for the first time. What does she say? If ultrasound doesn't exist in the medieval world, go take a doctor and let him check by feeling the mommy's belly.

"Knock knock!" Riku knocked against the side of a doorway leading into a lab somewhere in the San Fransokyo Institute of Technology.
"Um, Riku, remind me again what we're doing here?" Kairi asked as a seventeen year old boy looked up and got up from his chair where he had been working on some sort of robot or other. 
"Hey, Riku!" He greeted, and Riku exchanged a quick fist bump with him. "Ah, so this must be Kairi, right?" He offered his hand. "I'm Hiro Hamada. Nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you too," Kairi replied and shook his hand. "So how do you two know each other?"
"Sora and I passed through the area a few years ago," Riku explained. "Hiro here is an absolute genius when it comes to science and robotics." Hiro scratched the back of his head sheepishly. 
"Well, I try," he shrugged. "So what can I do for you two?" 
"I was wondering if we could borrow Baymax for something," Riku explained, and Hiro smiled and nodded, then turned to a red box under the window of his lab space. 
"Ow," he said, and Kairi turned to her husband curiously. He gestured to the red box and smiled. From it inflated what at first looked almost like a balloon man, a robot with a certain huggable quality to it. Once it had finished inflating, it stepped out of its box and waddled over to them.
"Hello." It raised its arm and gave them something resembling a wave. "I am Baymax, your personal healthcare companion." It turned to Hiro. "How can I be of assistance, Hiro?" 
"You remember Riku, right?" Hiro asked, gesturing to the Keyblade Master, and Baymax turned to him.
"Yes. Hello, Riku. You appear to be in excellent health. Your serotonin levels are elevated. This indicates that you are happy." 
"I am," Riku nodded. "Hey, Baymax, this is my wife, Kairi."
"Hello, Kairi," Baymax greeted. "You are with child. How may I be of service to ease your pregnancy?" Kairi blinked. 
"Um, Riku said we were coming for an ultrasound," she said. "Can you do that?" 
"I can scan your child and project an image to show you the child's development," Baymax replied. "Is this your preferred method of care?" 
"Uh... yes?" Kairi said, taking her husband's hand. 
"I will now scan you," Baymax said, and Kairi squeezed Riku's hand a bit. "Scan complete."
"That was fast," Kairi remarked softly. 
"Your baby is healthy," Baymax told them. "Please wait a moment. I am assembling an image." A moment later, a sort of screen projected onto Baymax's front surface, and within it, Riku and Kairi could catch a glimpse of their child. 
"Oh, Riku..." Kairi breathed, and he wrapped his arm over her shoulders. 
"That's our child," he said with a smile. "That's our baby, Kairi." She smiled brightly and placed her hand over her heart. 
"Baymax, can you tell if it's a boy or a girl?" she asked.
"My observations and calculations are not 100% accurate," Baymax replied, "But based on the data collected, your baby appears to be male." 
"A boy..." Kairi turned to look at her husband. "Our little boy!" She nearly squealed with joy, a joy that he shared. 
"Our boy, our son..." He kissed her and held her close. "We're going to have a son." He looked up to their companions. "Thank you, Baymax. You too, Hiro."
"No problem," Hiro replied. "Glad to be of service. I'm sure my brother would be proud to know what Baymax has done for so many people."
"I cannot deactivate until you say you are satisfied with your care," Baymax told them, and Kairi smiled.
"Okay, Baymax. Thank you. I am satisfied with my care." 

Mommy's having contractions and is in labor! Mommy's started to push! What did daddy say?

"Why does Aqua get to be in there, but not me?!" Riku demanded- again- as he paced outside his and Kairi's room within the Land of Departure. Ventus smiled and shook his head as he got up and led Riku to a chair they'd put outside the door for him. 
"Because when we let you in before, you almost passed out," he reminded his fellow Keyblade Master. "Don't worry. Everything's going to be fine. Kairi's in good hands."
"But I should be in there too," Riku argued. "She's my wife and she's giving birth to our son! Kairi's going to kill me if I'm not there for that."
"She'll also kill you if you get in the way and make things even more difficult for her," Ventus said. Riku stood back up, alarmed.
"Wait, what's so difficult? Is something going wrong?!"
"Riku, relax!" Ventus said a bit firmly. "I'm just saying it's probably best this goes as smoothly as possible. And if you don't have the stomach for this, then you should probably wait out here."
"For the love of Kingdom Hearts, I've run around the belly of a whale, faced Heartless and Nobodies and Nightmares, gotten my body stolen, and faced clones of my darkness. I can handle being there for my wife while she's giving birth to our child!" Ventus sighed and stepped out of the way before a frantic Riku could knock him over while he yanked the door open and raced inside. 

Awwwwww! Mommy and daddy have a cute baby/cute babies! How did they feel when they got the baby/babies?

There was a warm smile on Riku's face as he sat at Kairi's bedside, and he wiped his eyes. She looked up with a tired but joyful look in her eyes, and he stroked her hair and leaned in to kiss her forehead.
"What are you thinking about?" she asked. She sounded exhausted, and he couldn't blame her.
"Mm..." He nuzzled the side of her head, earning a giggle. "Just pondering the things we've been through." He kissed Kairi's temple, then looked down with a warm smile at the newborn she held in her arms. He gently stroked his infant son's head, mindful of how fragile the child seemed. But he attributed that to him simply being a newborn. Riku could sense the beginnings of a strong heart within the child. 
He looked up at the sound of soft knocking and found Ventus peeking in with a grin on his face.
"Hey, can we come in?" he asked, and Riku exchanged a quick look with his wife, then nodded. Ventus made his way to Kairi's opposite side with Aqua following him, and she smiled warmly as she took her husband's hand.
"How is he?" she asked as she looked down at the newborn.
"He's fine," Kairi replied with a proud smile. "Healthy and strong."
"Just like his mother," Riku added, and she gave him a curt look. He smiled and leaned in to kiss her again. The infant cooed softly, stirring and looking up at Riku with the same bright blue eyes as his father. 
"I think he likes you," Ventus laughed, and Riku snorted slightly.
"I certainly hope my son likes me," he replied. "I'd like to at least have some time before he hits his awkward teenage years where he thinks I'm a hopeless dork."
"Well, you are kind of a dork," Kairi teased, and he smirked at her.
"You're the one who agreed to marry me," he pointed out, and she smiled. 
"And I'm glad I did," she said. "I love you, Riku."
"And I love you," Kairi, he replied. Once again, he kissed her temple, then leaned in to kiss the top of his son's head.
"So," Ventus tilted his head slightly. "Any idea of what you want to name him?" Kairi looked up and met Riku's gaze, and they both smiled, though Ventus could see traces of old sadness in their eyes.
"I don't think it's much of a question," Kairi said as she looked down at her son. Riku shut his eyes, taking a soft breath, and nodded in agreement. Ventus smiled as well and lowered his head for a moment, then looked back up and held his hand out slightly.
"May I?" he asked, and both Riku and Kairi nodded. He leaned in and held his hand toward the infant, who gently wrapped his tiny hand around Ventus's finger. Ventus felt his eyes water as well, though his heart swelled with happiness. He spoke softly, earning a gentle coo from the boy. 
"Hello, Sora."

Whew, lag decided to kill the stream. But I got some decent work done. 

Hello, everybody! I just wanted to let you know what I've been up to lately and what you can probably expect from me in the future depending on what accounts of mine you follow.

First, I recently started a new group:

With the focus being on three parallel pairings in the Kingdom Hearts series: SoraXKairi, RoxasXXion, and VentusXAqua. If you're a fan of any of those or all three, drop by and maybe consider joining!

Second, I've uploaded some of Marth's supports for Hero-King of Legend on my writing account, BW-Writings that you can read if you feel like it. I've currently finished his conversations with Chrom, Lissa, Robin, and Frederick and have one more that will be uploaded in a couple of weeks when the character is introduced in the story.

Third, I technically started writing The Death of Eternity, the third part of the Across the Bounds of Time subseries of On the Wings of Light and Dark, and hopefully I'll start working on uploading those chapters once I'm either finished or near finished with Hero-King of Legend or Ultimativ. That'll be over on my fanfiction account. 

And that's about it, I think, other than that I have another Kingdom Hearts cosplay in the works that I'll probably start uploading some progress photos of over on VeneficusMagister and on my cosplay Facebook page. 

Thanks to a lot of pondering going on in my head, I have an original story that I'm probably going to "publish" on my writing account, BW-Writings and perhaps on FictionPress. It's a way I feel I want to support the LGBTQ community that I am an ally of, and while I can't and won't say I understand the problems they deal with here in the USA, I'm hoping this will be a way for me to peek into them along with some other social issues going on that do impact me personally. 

Anyway, so here we go. 

It was a rainy day on a certain college campus when a freshman, Cillian Evans, ended up sharing a bus seat with a junior Psychology Major by the name of Alexander Rapp. Six years later, Alexander, or Alec as he prefers to be called, is fresh out of graduate school and looking for an office to hire him as a psychologist for young adults much like him. But more than anything, he's looking for any way possible to help Cillian, now his partner and boyfriend, cope with his fighting depression and sometimes severe anxiety along with being ill more often than not that has time and again interfered with his quality of life.
Things would be so much easier if the courts would just let them marry.
Alec won't call himself bitter, but he is tired of hearing responses from job offers and insurance companies telling him the same thing: "Immediate family only. You can only pass on your benefits to your spouse. We can't do anything unless you're married." 
He knows he won't ever stop fighting for the boy he loves dearly, but fears how much longer Cillian can keep fighting as is until he gives up. But it's an uphill battle, and they have little choice other than to fight it together.
